Apple wird am 8. April das iPhone OS 4.0 vorstellen. Um 10 Uhr früh Ortszeit werden am Donnerstag in Cupertino Details des kommenden Betriebssystems präsentiert, das zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt veröffentlicht wird.
Mit einer Präsentation des neuen iPhone OS wurde bereits seit Anfang des Jahres gerechnet, dass die Ankündigung nun so kurzfristig kommt, ist allerdings eine Überraschung. Erwartet wird die Bekanntgabe von Features wie Multitasking für Apps von Fremdherstellern sowie systemweites Multitouch.

Hoffentlich gibt es ein paar neue APIs. Grossartig wäre zum Beispiel das anbinden an die iTunes-Download-Queue, sodass eine App auch nach dem beenden etwas downloaden kann. Ganz grossartig wäre auch das abspielen von Audio im Hintergrund.
Nachdem ich jetzt einige Zeit ein Android Phone benutzt habe, stolpere ich beim iPhone ständig an triviale Dinge die einfach nicht gehen und geniale apps wie listen.googlelabs.com unmöglich machen.
